About Me

I'm Danny Palmer, an experienced, award-winning cybersecurity writer, reporter and editor. I've been working in journalism and editorial for over 15 years and have spent over a decade of that covering cybersecurity and the impact it has on people, businesses and society, with a focus on making complex issues simpler to understand.

Most recently, I was Head of Editorial Content at a prominent cybersecurity company, responsible for developing and implementing editorial content strategy.  Here, as a cybersecurity writer and editor, I helped to build and run a brand new owned content channel, focused around thought leadership on cybersecurity, AI and where they intersect. 

I spent over seven years as senior reporter at ZDNet, where as a cybersecurity journalist, I covered some of the most significant cybersecurity stories to emerge during that time, explaining and analyzing data breaches, malware campaigns, ransomware attacks and more. Before this, I worked as a Staff Writer for Computing Magazine, where, I covered a range of B2B technology trends, including business transformation, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, data science and more.

I've appeared as an expert contributor on cybersecurity trends and incidents on television and radio, while my work as a cybersecurity journalist has been cited in research and academic papers by globally renowned bodies including RUSI, The Atlantic Council and Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.
